Useful introduction to the field - This slim volume provides a useful introduction to the field of OT studies for the new student, containing a series of essays exploring background and approaches to the material. Some are more useful than others, but the sections explaining the various recognised ways to approach the OT, plus an overview of historical thinking and how to avoid bias and confusion, are very clear and provide a good starting-off point. Despite being a Christian publication, the writing is very careful to not assume all readers will have a religious background or interest, which I found refreshing. A quick, but useful, read. Would have been four stars, but its a tad pricey for so few pages.
